Nail diseases and surgery
Nails are appendages that prove to be very useful when handling items (taking objects, etc.). Their pathology and diagnosis come within in the purview of the dermatologist.
The most common pathologies are fungal or bacterial infections, loosening of the nail, thick nails, ingrown nails... In addition to a rather unattractive appearance, nail diseases can also be quite painful. In any event, the dermatologist can provide a suitable treatment.
Surgery on ingrown nails is performed under local anaesthesia in a medical practice. Some tumours, which are more dangerous and lead to a deformation of the nail, must be rapidly diagnosed. They sometimes require a biopsy.
